What's new in Fortnite?

In the fourth Chapter of Fortnite Battle Royale, go forth in a new realm and get around in new ways.

Power yourself up with Reality Augments and claim territory for your squad, leaving behind Banners to declare what’s yours. And of course, venture with newly-forged weapons.

With the new chapter, Fortnite now makes use of Unreal Engine 5.1, bringing a generational leap in visual fidelity and utilising innovative features such as Nanite, Lumen, virtual shadow maps and temporal super resolution.

A new Island:

Following the finale of Chapter 3, a new Island has appeared - providing new players an excellent opportunity to board the Battle Bus for the first time! Explore everything from the Brutal Bastion in the mountains to the Shattered Slabs mining facility.

New ways to get around:

Shake up the battlefield while riding a dirt bike, rolling in a snowball, launching yourself with the Shockwave Hammer and hurdling over obstacles.

Reality augments:

Earn Reality Augments throughout a match for benefits such as driving without using fuel or different weapons. The longer you survive, the more Reality Augments you'll collect.

New weapons:

Discover a range of new weapons across the landscape, including the Ex-Caliber Rifle, Thunder Shotgun, Red-Eye Assault Rifle and Twin Mag SMG.

New for Battle Pass:

Chapter 4 - Season 1

Embark on the bus of battle with a new cast of combatants.With this Season’s Battle Pass purchase, you’ll immediately unlock the “Selene” Outfit. Progress through the Battle Pass to unlock other Outfits including the in-your-nightmares “Doom Slayer,” the ruler “The Ageless,” and more. Later in the Season, “Geralt of Rivia” himself will become unlockable.Battle Royale and Zero Build aren’t the only places to earn XP towards your Battle Pass. You can also earn XP from Accolades in certain creator-made games - play the way you want to unlock "Doom Slayer", "The Ageless" and more!
